Work has been insanity on the grandest of scales, which isn’t news for me I suppose. I tend to work a bit too much even in the best of times. We put out a new product that has some challenges that we are having to work through. Makes for a lot of headaches, and lots of long hours that have made me a bit too anti computer when I get home from work, so I just haven’t felt like blogging.
I also managed to take a header down Shiloh’s stairs on Thanksgiving day, and in the process, I broke my ankle in like 4 places and dislocated it which tore tendons and ligaments, as well as doing some shiny nerve damage. I had to have surgery on it a couple of weeks later, and spent like two months basically trapped at home because I couldn’t drive. Needless to say, that was not fun. I am mostly back together now. It still hurts to walk and I can’t wear my fins to dive yet, which makes me very sad.ÂÂ
 It is improving though.
Life is sorta calming down and getting back on track, so I should be updating more soon. -

I talked about this in an earlier entry, the woman whose husband died in Afghanistan and the VA wouldn’t allow a pentagram on his memorial. Turns out the Nevada Attourney General decided that the VA had no right to decide what goes on a State Memorial and said it was ok. Doesn’t have any effect on National Cemeteries, but its a step in the right direction.

ROFL. I found this on a google ad and couldnt resist: http://www.biblicalprofile.com/
So here is Bible!Dessie:
Your Biblical Personality Style:
Careful & Compliant: As a "C" style, your personality is similar to Biblical heroes such as Luke, Silas, Ruth and Esther. All of these people led by example, having a high standard for excellence and walking in personal integrity. Valuing accuracy and organization, Luke wrote his gospel account accordingly, "It seemed good to me also, having had perfect understanding of all things from the very first, to write unto thee in order, most excellent Theophilus" Luke 1:3 Ruth and Esther both showed patience and persistence in doing well and waiting for Divine opportunities rather than forcefully demanding things for themselves; it was all about preparation, planning, and perfect timing.
Interesting enough, many of the "C" style personalities in the Bible were challenged by being put into situations that required great faith. Esther and Ruth both exhibited great faith, an area where they no doubt both grew personally since their natural desire would have been to gain a better understanding before having to make life threatening decisions. Silas had to act in faith when becoming the Apostle Paul’s new travel companion when Paul rejected John Mark because of his non-compliant behavior. Silas proved to be much more compatible with Paul’s high standard of commitment and excellence.
Your Personality Style Description:
A perfectionist, destiny is very willing to expend the effort to achieve high quality results. Because she works so carefully, she tends to be sensitive to criticism. destiny tends to gather a great deal of information before making choices. She believes that if everyone would process information in the same way as she does, a better level of quality would be maintained.destiny values close, personal relationships, and she will often put the needs and desires of those who are loyal friends ahead of her own needs. She is an even-paced individual who thrives in a peaceful, harmonious environment. destiny will work to avoid conflict and sudden changes in her lifestyle and finds joy in keeping tradition.
Because she cares about how others feel, destiny may feel uncomfortable making decisions that strongly affect others. She typically encourages others to be involved in the decision making process and prefers to work in a team role. Others tend to see destiny as agreeable and humble.
destiny usually avoids being the center of attention. She tends to pick her friends carefully and is usually cautious and not overly "open" to strangers. destiny may sometimes come across as being skeptical of what others tell her they will do, but once a person has proven their reliability, destiny is willing to invest more time and trust in the relationship.

As y’all can probably see, I’ve been doing some moving about of links and such on ye olde blog this week. For example, the links along the side used to just be static in my Main Index template, but now, they are all managed using Blogroll, which means when I screw up my template yet again, I won’t loose all my links like I have in the past. I love it when I can find ways to counteract my blondness. The new system also does cool things like show the last updated dates for blogs that support it. What?! I am easily amused by gadgets. Don’t look at me like that.
Also new is the archive dropdown, instead of the full list of all the archive months. I thought it was making the navigation a bit too messy. This is using the sexy new Widgets feature in MovableType.
I am working on a system that will allow you to edit your comments for a couple minutes after you leave ‘em so you can quickie correct that typo. There still seems to be some kinks in that system tho, so its a WIP for now.
And now, so I can test some new posting software, y’all get to be treated to an adorable pic of Tigger Just because I want to test the image feature, of course. The fact that I get to show pics of my preciouses is just a bonus.

I have been so totally busy since going back to work after the wedding. We have had a really difficult couple of weeks, that thankfully are finally over. It’s been almost a year since we played “where were you when the lights went out“, and quite frankly, it was a game I hoped never to play again.
Needless to say, with two major outages in less than a week, it was a really long couple of days. Lots of long hours, lots of pissy people. On the bright side, it is my company’s intent to get the bleeding hell out of that Data Center, and while that is going to mean a long weekend of graveyard for me, it means that I never, ever, ever have to play that hateful game again. I hope.
I think that that is going to be accomplished in the next 30 days or so, so yay for that.
In other news, married life is going well. We are mostly settled in after the honeymoon, other than the fact that we still haven’t had time to get the Thank You cards done. Folks, if you sent a gift, we really are thankful, it’s just that we have been to swamped to write each of you.
Final bit of news. I don’t know if I should be embarrassed about this or happy, but I have decided that we need to break down and get a maid. With the kind of hours that I have been putting in lately, and with the honey working the odd hours that he does, housecleaning is just not getting done. It’s both of our faults really, but neither of us could take it anymore, so I just made the call. Honestly, its just as well spent as what I spent on the Progressor (and y’all KNOW I consider that money VERY well spent
). It’s such a load off my mind to not to have to worry about the house that I SLEPT better after they left. Maybe I should be embarrassed, and I am a little, but, I can’t say I am actually sorry.
Midnite. Sleep now? Gods, I hope so. Otherwise, I might go postal. Insomina is kicking my ass. -

So I thought it was time for a new, spring-ish look for ye olde blog. (translation: I got bored with the green. LOL)
Time has flown by. I am swamped as heck at work, since I am pretty much working 6 days a week until we get someone new hired for the graveyard shift on Saturday night/Sunday morning. Das no fun, but the money is a good thing with the wedding fast approaching. (Current countdown at the time of this typing: 12wks 2days 4hrs 18mins 34secs)
To do in the next couple of weeks: find some bridesmaid’s dresses we all can live with that don’t break the bank, and finalise invitations. Anyone know where I can find plain old boring cream coloured invitation card stock w/ matching envelopes? It’s much more complicated than I would have thought to find. BOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!
We have decided on a honeymoon location (well, two in our case). We are going to New York City for a week, then for a 7 day cruise to the Caribbean. It’s going to be the longest vacation I have taken in like 5 years, no longer. The last one I took was only a week. ROFL, its gonna be my longest ever.
Other than that, I have nothing interesting going on in my life. Depressing, isn’t it?
